I drink one or two glasses of Skim Milk per day as almost everyone in my family has for at least a hundred years. I also like string cheese as a snack from time to time. I make smoothies out of frozen berries, orange juice and one cup of low fat yogurt (NOT YOPLAIT) - best smoothie you will every have! I also love to cook with Spinach (good source of calcium) and we find many ways to work it into our foods. One of my favorite recipes calls for a box of corn bread mix, cottage cheese and a box of frozen spinach (thawed). You make it like corn bread - it's delicious! Of course I like a little ice cream from time to time but that's way to high in sugar to eat often.
You're right, nutrition is always what corporations are looking at...actually hardly ever. Since sugar is naturally occurring in dairy products it's tough to do anything about it BUT you can find yogurts that are made with splenda instead of added sugars (most use aspartame, you are correct).
Unsweetened Soy MIlk has only about 1g of sugars vs Skim MIlk, a much better option if you can handle soy milk ( I don't like the taste). But Soy milk has about 75% less calcium in it than milk so it doesn't help in that regard.
Diabetes is certainly a concern and sometimes an obstacle when trying to work out your nutritional intake. The more sugars / calories you take in the more Insulin you have to take in to counter the effect. Fortunately I haven't had to deal with that too much but my glucose levels were at 100 last physical so it's always in the back of my mind when I eat something!
Then too, Phosphoric acid depleats calcium from your body. You would never guess where Phosphoric acid is found, that so so many consume like water? YUP! Most soda contains enough phosphoric acid that if a person drinks it one or more times a day, They are bringing on that ugly "O" disease; that you may now simply buy a dangerous pill to correct. Wonder why the Pharmaceutical companies do not tell us about the soda and other processed food connections to the phosphoric acid problems. Do you suppose a multi million dollar business would taint their integrity? What integrity?
I knaw on a piece of chaulk 5 days a week.

Been eatin too muck chaulk lately.
Just messin' around Merry Christmas, belated Happy Hanuka, and a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2011 but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere . Also, this wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee
If you want it from Vegetables try Spinach - it has 2.5 times more calcium than broccoli and gives you less gas!! Turnip Greens have about 9 times more calcium but aren't as tasty as either broccoli or spinach.
Another one that I have is a glass of calcium fortified orange juice...lots of calcium (about 1/3 of what you need daily) + a whole lot of potassium.
Magnesium helps the heart, constipation, restless leg...so many things.
milk has been linked to Type 1 diabetes, prostate cancer, osteoporosis,
multiple sclerosis or other autoimmune diseases, and how casein, the
main protein in dairy foods, has been shown to experimentally promote
cancer and increase blood cholesterol and atherosclerotic plaque."

This question is clearly here for advertising purposes, to promote Yoplait as a health food, even though it isn't actually good for you.
You're right, this question is totally bogus because it is sponsored by a yogurt maker. Regardless, I can point you to dozens of studies done by UNIVERSITY scientists that paint a much different picture than the one you portray. T. Colin Campbell is the widely known author of "The China Diet" and a very outspoken advocate of the vegan lifestyle. Quoting him on the subject is no better than Yoplait posting this question. Both are very biased opinions.
And to say Yoplait Yogurts (or yogurt in general) isn't good for you is a pretty poor statement. Are there better foods, yes some. Are there Worse foods for you to ingest...definitely! Let's play a game. Your child has two choices for lunch - McDonald's Cheeseburger & Fries or a Turkey Sandwich & Yoplait Yogurt - which are you choosing. OK, that's too easy. Now how about this. McDonalds Cheesburger & Fries OR McDonalds Hamburger & Yoplait Yogurt? Yoplait is by far a better choice than almost EVERY fast food side dish. Lower calorie, good source of protein, high potassium - not a bad choice for a side dish.
I just...

I just looked it up, here's the nutritional info for a regular strawberry Yoplait yogurt (6oz / 170grams):
Calories: 170
Fat (grams): 1.5
Potassium: 230mg
Total Carbs: 33g
Sugars: 26g
50% of Calcium (Recommended Daily Allowance)
50% of Vitamin D
15% of Vitamin A
10% of Protein
I don't buy Yoplait yogurt, too expensive for what you get but I do eat Dairy Products. My parents eat dairy products and my grandparents ate dairy products and so on. Sorry, they lived well into their upper 80's and 90's. These days it seems everything causes cancer and everyone is trying to scare you with that. Let me put this out there...unless you grow your own food AND protect it from contamination from outside sources, your vegetables are just as bad for you as you think dairy products are. Pesticides are widely used in the commercial food supply and it definitely gets into your food.
You seem like a pretty young kid who has found something they want to champion. Great! But really you should be a little more informed before you start quoting every scientist who supports your view - it's a big bad world out there and people have been getting nutrition from dairy for thousands of years. Overeating is a much bigger concern and I will guaranty you that all the numbers are skewed not because people eat dairy, or meat, or whatever but that they eat too much of it. There's little argument over that.
I mention the health risks here, but really the health-related issues are secondary. I mostly care about not contributing to the suffering of animals. You can eat whatever you want, and you are free to be just as suspicious of "The China Study" as I am of the research funded by the dairy industry. We all decide what we believe, and we live accordingly. I was just pointing out that this question was clearly here for advertising purposes, in case people were taking it too seriously. I think we can agree about that.
