Peace is totally an internal state of being for me, even in the middle of chaos if I am centered and calm within myself I do not let external stimulus throw me off. It is funny, but there are some people whose mere presence put you in a peaceful state, and I find I want to be around those people more and more and those who function in chaos less and less (have to put my shield up to protect myself from their toxic energy)
There is only peace withing oneself. I feel peace when I ride my horse in the full beauty of the spring that is trying very hard to stomp on this blasted winter.
exactly right ,,,, and I do know...I get my most peace in the first minutes after the Eucharist when we kneel and wait for all...in that powerful connection with Christ...its the greatest experieance
Peace. like happiness, is between our ears. The Truth from the Tao, from Buddha, from Gandhi, from Christ, et. al. shows the way. Or we could seek the peace that comes in a drunken, hedonistic stupor. Medication/contemplation is cheaper and far less destructive.
I find it at the rifle range, or pistol range, or in front of a dart board, or next to a slow moving southern river, or within the pages of A good book, or holding hands with my wife as we walk together in the evening.
I find peace in knowing that no matter what goes on in my life that God is
in control and he knows the whole story and will get me through it, even
though I may question it at the time.
So, who knows??...
in control and he knows the whole story and will get me through it, even
though I may question it at the time.
