Sorry the things moved order

I met my wife at a 4 day Church convention.
Then she had to return to Sydney
I went up there and first night we went to a Dancing exhibition put on by BYU students, mainly of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
Next morning, as I recall, I picked her up and took her to the park ;)

However, I had had gf's from a young age - 5 or 6
The one I sorta consider a date, by 10 I was regularly having lunch with my 1st 'major' gf at school Lol! :)

Saturday matinee

Soccer match, September 1980 - her brother was playing for one of the teams!

We had to walk there; both too young to drive..... many decades ago :)

A carnival. She threw up on me while on one of the rides!

The fair it was night ..

I was actually asked out to a movie. But his dad wouldn't let him use the car. So we walked to the lake instead. Laid on the grass and looked at the stars and just talked. Awesome first date, led to an awesome marriage :-)

Roller rink. I was barely 16 and she, 15 so that was the only within-limits option - movies was the next year because it was 9 miles out of town to the closest cinema.

THE DRIVE IN TO SEE M*A*S*H

I couldn't tell you, that was some years ago, but at that time, grabbing a girl and marching through thigh deep snow down in to the woods, and linking up with friends you valued around a Winter bonfire was considered a date to be valued.
But there was something about a girl in braids, block plaid shirts and tight jeans that just......leave such fond memories. [sigh]

Here in Tx., there is no snow, but, a bonfire along a springfed creek is called a woodsie, and they last all night, not usually proper for a 1st date

Ha....."proper?" Proper inferred more about having the girl home at a reasonable hour. We were more concentrated about hangin' with friends who meant the most to us. We'd prep the site in the deep woods by trampling down the snow around the fire site, and bringing in pine brances for firewood. While the snow was deep, the fire would, over time create a bowl of sorts. I can't speak for regional differences regarding the dates of others, but.....we always had a great time. How can ya beat it? Deep woods.....totally quiet, pine wood fire snapping on a Winter's night, and looking up....more brilliant stars in a night sky than you could count. I wouldn't have traded that for anything, and I suspect, neither would my friends.

first it started out at my house so he could meet the family. then we went and walked around at the mall. next we went to dinner and ended the night out at stairing at the stars at the beach after walking around and getting ice cream.
