It was always mom that spanked me. I was the youngest child and it seemed like I was the only one to ever get spanked but I think that is just b/c my sisters were quite a bit older than me and I just didn't see them get spanked. Anyways, when I was really little she would pull my pants down with my panties and she'd put me across her lap and just spank me with her hand. She told me once when I was 3, we were out shopping and got tired of warning me so she took me into the bathroom, pulled out the changing table and laid me on my back. My dad did when I was 6. I believe in spanking,but not in excess. I learned to respect my parents and to obay what I was told. Too many kids walk all over their parents these days and if you don't give them what they want it's abuse! I don't think you should beat your kids, but I think it's fine to spank to let them know who's in control and respect is earned not demanded.( that goes both ways)
