Do you find some people go into a panic, The truth evidently hurts some people.
Is it better to lie to people than give them the truth which may be a bitter reality?

Try to avoid the subject and find something good to say to them.

I like hearing the truth and it makes me feel a bit better at having others hear the truth, but....some people are best off not knowing the truth. Some people say that they'll understand, but promptly shun you once they hear the truth. :(

why lie, the truth is too much fun. and it is kinda funny to watch people freak out

I've never had to deal with anyone going into a panic over hearing the truth. However, anyone who knows me or meets me, is made well aware of the fact that I am VERY blunt and truthful. I say that, so the person has the OPTION of being around me or not. I will not lie - not even about "how you look". The truth may not be pleasant, but if it hurts, it's because you weren't paying attention to the signs.

Sometimes trying to dispel delusions is either counterproductive or destructive. Those who seek the Truth understand that at times it hurts and accept that aspect of maturing, but that is for us to decide for ourselves. Some are too set in their ways to hear truth, and its pointless to press them with it. My expectation is that the Truth will set me free.

Sometimes people need to discover "truth" for themselves, in their own way!

no!!! always tell the truth it will hurt but will be easier for the other person to know and find a way to cope, but lying will make it worse

It depends on what you're referring to. What you consider to be the truth, they may not agree that its the truth.

Truths and lies are self evident.

Lol! Oh, no, not even close, but again it depends upon what you're referring to. If truth and lies were "self- evident", the justice systems job would be practically null and void.

Honesty is the best policy but a tactful way to present the truth is a the best human policy
