I understand how you feel about being called kid. As the youngest in my family many people STILL refer to me as "the baby." I'm going on 59 soon. I'm FAR from being a baby. I also get called "kiddo."
So I guess there really is no age, although I think there should be.
When is one not a "kid" any longer?

I have people call me "kid" or "kiddo". I find it highly annoying. Also, pointless. It's just as bad when someone outside my family calls me "Jessie". It also makes me feel "small" and slightly stupid. Which I do not enjoy. Just because someone is younger than you, doesn't make them a kid. I always thought you stopped being a kid when you hit your teen years. Then you are a "teenager" not a "kid".

+1When someone can act mature and carry on intelligent conversation. Using proper grammar is a must in my book. But I guess it depends on the person calling you a kid.reply - Stan Kapusta 2012/09/17 07:53:15
+1When you take total respondsibility for yourself. Age has nothing to do with it.reply - Hirnungah Mancandy 2012/09/17 05:05:12

+1I was in my thirties and my step mother called me kiddo. I told her I am and adult man not a kid. She said to her I would always be a kid. When I hit 55 I noticed she did not call me kiddo anymore, and missed it. It was and endearment not a statement of age. By the way don't wish to be and adult too quickly there is not much that is that great about it.reply - robert.goldsmith.14 2012/09/17 00:59:14
+1Physically, when you turn 18. Mentally, it depends on how you act and how you treat others.reply - ikeknight 2012/09/17 00:44:24
+2I think about mid teens is when you stop being a kid. More it has to do with seeing some start to emotionally and intellectually mature. If it bothers you, just tell them that you do not like it and could they please stop.reply - YourCompanionCube 2012/09/16 23:22:53
+2Kid or kiddo is an affectionate term for someone WAY younger than the person calling them it OR an affectionate term for children to call themselves. To most standards, you're no longer a child when you hit 13 or 18. To my standards, you're still a kid until you've matured, outgrown that "World revolves around me", or quit being emo.reply -
How about if one has neither mind set? Emos suck and I dint think the world revolves around me....reply - YourCom... 666_Mag... 2012/09/16 23:27:07
I don't have much to say to that, kiddo. ;)reply -

Yes, I am. You weren't expecting that? Did you think I was older? I get it alot. But it's because I'm so tall.reply -
No, just how you presented yourself on here, made you seem much older than 15. :3reply - YourCom... 666_Mag... 2012/09/18 20:55:28
I hope that was intended as a compliment. No need to explain. I can tell you're obviously attracted...loljk, but seriously, my Presentation?reply -
Attracted to what??? Anyhow, no, you seemed more mature than the average 15 year old males I know. :/ and you use proper grammar, which threw me off even more. >.> and no, it's not a compliment. Just stating my observations as to why I thought you were older.reply - YourCom... 666_Mag... 2012/09/18 21:05:10
XD Well, the grammar is a result of my "Gifted" Program and Private side-tutoring. :) I am (according to a few) very mature...But at times, I can be quite inappropriate.reply -
Same. People always think I'm much older than I am. :/ and for some reason, people think I look older. >.>reply - diana fuentes 2012/09/16 22:59:46 (edited)
+1you stop being a kid at the age of 12 b/c that when you start becoming a teenager but we all have a kid inside!!lolreply - blindfaith 2012/09/16 21:43:47
+2What's wrong with 'kiddo', it's not over friendly, in fact very platonic and matey :))reply - Flyaway 2012/09/16 21:35:33
+2Everyone is still a kid. But when we get older we have to learn the rules of being an adult and push that little kid inside us and have a poker face. Idk what I'm talking about...reply - 13_JunkyardDog 2012/09/16 19:48:03
+1You stop being "a kid" or "the kid" when you are older than most people around you, then you become "the old man" or "gramps"reply - nattieaug 2012/09/16 19:00:30
