However, if you are drinking to hydrate yourself, COOL, not cold water is best as your body will metabolize it faster and more efficiently.
Also do NOT use "sports drinks" to hydrate. Use them for electrolyte replacement, and that means sparingly because their sugar content works against you hydrating with them.
WATER is what you hydrate with.

The last time I had a bad bout with dehydration, I drank some Gatored Recovery drink after getting hydrated again (with water) and it made me right as rain.
