What's Your Favorite Type of Wine?

Wine has been around since at least 4500 BC, and has played a major role in many civilizations, from the ancient Greeks who poured wine as libation to the gods, to Christianity, where the drink is used to represent the blood of Christ. Of course, wine is an alcoholic drink, so it's off limits to the under-aged and should be consumed in moderation, but as far as alcohol goes it's one your classier options.

Take this 7-question Quick Poll from Cellar360 and let us know what you think about wine -- if you drink it at all, on what occasions, how much you're willing to pay, etc. We'd love to hear from you!

Actually, I prefer sweet, fruity wines. Moscato is pleasing--along with Riesling, Zinfandel, Chianti, Champaign, Pinot Noir, Cabernet, Savignon. Merlot, Sangria, et al.

i don't really drink wine as i don't like the taste. The only exception i would make is for desert wine or port wine (not as a drink but to put in trifle). I could handle maybe a small sip of white wine, but it would have to be very sweet or forget it.

Pinot Noir is one of the oldest grape varieties to be cultivated for the purpose of making wine. Ancient Romans were producing wine with it as early as the first century AD. Pinot Noir is recognized worldwide as a great wine grape and originally gets that reputation from the Red Wines of Burgundy, whose wines are based mostly on this variety of grape.

No doubt, I am. My family never served it. i`m unfamiliar with what goes with what dish. Basically and totally un-cultured. ( and cheap ). I like a white Port also. Just an evening sipping wine for me. Any suggestions ? I`ll give it a try .

Well for it to be better, I have to like it first which I really don't when it comes to most other wines. I can't stand whites (although they are great for cooking with) and many reds are too sweet for my liking.
