The new list of the most popular baby names is in -- and we're sad to report that one of them was influenced by a Kardashian. Sophia is the new most popular baby name for girls, while Jacob is the No. 1 name for boys for the 13th year in a row, according to a list released Monday by the Social Security Administration.
Isabella, which had been the top girl's name for two years, sunk to second place in 2011. Emma, Olivia and Ava came in third, fourth and fifth. Mason rose 10 spots to become the second most popular name for boys -- most likely due to Kourtney Kardashian's little reality star (though Mason first entered the top 100 in 1997). William, Jayden and Noah completed the top five names for boys.
Another frightening factoid: The fastest rising name for girls was Briella, which rose 394 spots to No. 497. Briella Calafiore stars in "Jerseylicious," and yes, people want to name their baby after her. What's your favorite baby name from the recent "Most Popular" list?

...it's the most common name in the world, and even the most popular name for baby boys in England, beating out names like "Jack" and "Harry".

I named my girls Ashlyne Brooke & Addison Noelle.
And thanks to the Hunger Games, I'd probably name my baby girl Primrose xD

For boys...ehhh. Don't care much for any of the boy's names.
Isabella is the name of the main character in Beauty and the Beast. Since the modern depiction of the "beast" in the story no longer conveys the moral of the original story, any reminder of it irritates me.
I never cared for the name Jacob. It always sounded too "goody-good" for anyone I'd associate with. Then, I'm sure there are plenty of rat-fink bastards that go by that name.
Mason sound suitably masculine, but I just don't care for it.
