When you think of high-waisted pants, you probably think of mom jeans, specifically, an infamous Jessica Simpson fashion faux pas. But fashion bloggers are going berserk over a pair of Viktor & Rolf high-waisted pants. And when we say high-waisted, we mean really high-waisted.

Heavy Browsing points out that the off-white pants were originally $1,495 at shopbop.com but now they're a relatively reasonable 50 percent off at $747.50. Sorry, did we just call them pants? These slacks look more like a strapless gown. In fact, they are described by Victor & Rolf as a Top Belt Jumpsuit, and they even come with a bandeau lining.

But wait -- we have something even more hideous to show you. At Fashion Week in Australia, a model for designer Magdalena Veleveska wore a hand-threaded face mask over her neon yellow lipstick, Yahoo! Shine reports. Hannibal Lecter, anyone? Which recent fashion fail is the ugliest?

They are both hideous, not to mention rediculous, but the face mask has no purpose besides distracting everyone around you and making it awkward to be around you. The pants, equally rediculous, serve a purpose, but in a completly unneccisary way (on a side note, you women wouldn't have to wear a shirt anymore, it can be equal to a ugly dress).

The mask looks ridiculous, but I honestly don't think it's something that would catch on. You won't be seeing that thing ever again, I hope ! However the pants are kind of strange, but mark my words...we will see a Kardashian wearing this very soon.

The pants would look good, depending on how they were made. If the bottom was boot-cut, and fit your figure, and went with some better shoes (just check), and put a really nice tee on it, it would look great! As for the mask, it would look good at supernova or something.

Can't possibly think how you could apply this to everyday use, if it cannot be bent to fit smart casual making you look the fool rather than the enviable, or would be out of place at a serious business meeting, or security has to stop you and ask you to remove it, it is a pure no go, however I do not consider it to be out of place at a masquerade or fancy dress party.

I do not see the point in them. Makes going to the toilet harder surely?
Plus they look unattractive and uncomfortable. I feel they have no waist at all, more a trouser dress. WEIRD I'M CONFUSED.....=/

Regarding the high waisted pants, at first click I thought I was gonna be hit with a Simon Cowel Spoof fashion, but I'm pleasantly surprised by these as they actually look elegant in their way, I'd be tempted to put something around the middle though a different pattern maybe or a tie to give it more figure hugging.

I agree it would look a lot better belted in the middle with something feminine, not this mans belt on the model. Maybe something like a dainty chain type belt, or a very skinny black belt with a jeweled buckle ? The belt on top is hideous...it makes the garment look exactly like someone playing around with their moms old "fat clothes". Unfortunately, I think they put it like that because they actually want them to look like a pair of trouser up to their armpits.

High fashion ? On what planet ? People want in-demand designers clothes, because they look good , not because the designers decided to throw a few Halloween costumes into the mix. Do they really waste their time making that crap or is there a purpose ? Do they really expect that the rich and famous are going to buy these and grace the next red carpet event with these "creations" ?
