I'd have to say that America is the nation with the most Christians in it.

If you call the Catholic Church Christian, I would say Italy.

The Vatican is a Nation-State, so technically they would win.

You don't have to be a theocracy to have a national religion. At one time France's was Catholicism but Protestants were free to practice

In name maybe. Philipinos still have the highest concentration of church goers day in & day out. While we are closing churches, they fill churches to overflowing.

A recent poll by the UN...the most happiest nations. ROP came in near the top. They may be poor but their faith & love of family keeps them content & full of life. Proof, money doesn't solve everything.

I know that's true. I've done mission work in the Philippines. I have been on the radio there and sent hundreds of the books I wrote to several Pastors there. We sent hundreds of Cebueno language Bibles to prisoners there. God is doing great things in that nation.

Then there is a quiet, but brave US contingent.

Agree. Don't forget our Philipino friends as well. They just don't call themselves Christian, they practice it.

That would be debatable...Christian like in religion or Christian like in good people all the way to the core of ones soul?

Yes but they don't spend all that tax money on missiles which they childishly use...they spend it on society instead.

Umm...the tax rates in the U.S. appear to be higher. If I'm wrong, please explain.

    Here are the rates.

Also, in the U.S. if you were lucky enough to win on the lottery, you'd lose 38% of it before it even hit your bank account, but in Canada we don't get taxed on winnings at all. In fact, there's a nice list of types of income that are tax free in Canada, but I couldn't find any for the US. I'm sure there are some, but it doesn't appear to be easily obtainable information.

That sounds a little too non liberal for canada, but yes, I do believe that for the US
  • Shilo Pika 2010/09/10 18:57:40

? I'm not certain what you mean. You believe a liberal government would tax the hell out of the people?

Hm. I wouldn't have thought so. Still, you might be right. I suspect most governments of any party would hike the taxes if they could get away with it. They're certainly taxing the hell out of controlled products like tobacco. Taxes have gone up on tobacco so often this year I can't even remember the count. A 25 pack of any of the popular brands here (Players, DuMaurier, etc.) is somewhere around 15 bucks. It's tragic. lol.

Taxes actually appear to be a bit lower in Canada. I stole one of your links by the way. Thanks.
