I Love You - my Dad is 82 and I try to tell him every time I see him. I never know when it will be the last time - on this earth anyway.

..............A long distance phone call from my Mother, my Dad dying from advanced heart disease, the surgery, a double bypass operation on His heart valves, the surgery was successful, but my Dad had a smoker's cough, that kept ripping the repair stitches and strokes on top of that..........needless to say, my Dad was reporting what doctor's and nurse's would say, when they looked in on Him........ " How Ya Doing " ..........consequently I was the last child in the family that spoke to Him, " I told Him, that I loved Him, gave Him encouragement " .........but He repeated over and over.........How Ya Doing, later that day, He died............I urge persons smoking, to fully give it up, or You may very well end up like my deceased, Dad............

:o My parents are smokers, and they're not going to quit. So when they die they die I guess, but it is always a terrible loss.

Some people don't have a great dad but in my case, I had the best. I told him I loved him and then he died at the age of 48.

I'm so sorry, Linda, that's way too young. I'm happy you had the love of your Dad, that's something I never had.

The last time I saw my dad - he was very drunk, and I somehow offended him with my presence... His last words to me were "Get the F%$# Out!"

He died of a heart attack - a reaction to complications of his liver disease, 3 days later.

Wow, now that's hard to take. I'm so sorry.

i hurt my stomach

he had visited me at my house..he looked a bit pale..i am disabled and bed bound..as he left he came an hugged me..we gave each other a kiss and i told him I loved him..he said I love you too girl..a few days later he rang me..hospital had told him he had cancer..i was in tears but dad said 'don't cry..I have had a great life..i have never been without food..warmth and love...I will fight this..' his brain went shortly afterwards and we buried him a few weeks later...I wasnt even able to get to the funeral as I was so ill..i ended up spending 5 months in hospital..I am glad our last words were not mean ones,,,i love him and miss him so bad...

I'm so sorry for your loss, how very lucky he is to have had someone who cares so much. I'm also sorry for your disability. Take care!
