almost to the most northern part of Iceland...if I was in an airplane I would have earned the silly navy award of Blue Nose...we were recovering an old Soviet Union Sonobuoy that washed up...

Crossing the equator is much more fun the second time

About 2 minutes in, I'm the guy giving egg shampoos to the wogs coming off the aircraft elevator. At 2:36 is our captain "Bear" Taylor in the blue overalls going through the ceremony....he was the best captain I ever had after 3 ships and almost 14 years being on ships..

My first captain on the Wasp was a great guy...in order to watch the Superbowl via satalite our ship actually went backwards slowly for the game...we were beebopping along South America at the time...

On the Coral Sea I had three great captains and one very mediocre captain...the worst was a religious reborn ass who irritated everyone with his pompous, judging, attitude....his visit to the Iowa was indirectly responsible for the disaster.

In 93 I was at Jacksonville, Fla. During Shield and Storm I was on the LaSalle...The Quartermasters were in charge of me (photolab), the journalist and the Lithographer. Nothing more career limiting than people outside of your rate doing your evals...

Supposedly when I flew to Europe they fly near the north pole. I didn't see Santa Clause or anything, but I'll take their word for it.

It is an upper peninsula thing. We have a place outside of Peterborough. We contribute often to the economy of Canada.
