Biggest refers to "size"...size can take on many meanings...I'll interpret it as the Book with the Most Impact on my life, and that would be "The Bible"
Do you mean shear mass or number of pages. If by number of pages I'd have to say some of my Tom Clancy novels some of which are in excess of 600 pages. The largest book I have read was probably an atlas or a book of WW II aircraft which contained many large detailed diagrams. Great book.
Well, if you mean biggest as in , number of pages, it would have to be "It" by Stephen King. Scared the begeezus out of me. But it's my favorite. =) I just try not to read it at night. Lol.
Right, I forgot about The Stand! And yes, Cujo does have a sad ending. =( give Christine a chance if you're ever up for giving King another try. Not as long, and way better than the movie. =)
IT - Stephen King comes to mind as a large book i remember carrying around while reading it on the bus to and from work for a while... but i'm not sure it's the biggest book i ever read.
Nullificaton, the history of our country and Constitution by Professor Kirk Wood! Awesome 2 vol. set! If you want to know our TRUE history that is where you need to read!
In general, the bible. Novels, I'm not sure if L. Ron Hubbard's Battlefield Earth or Stephen King's It is longer. But the biggest book I've ever seen is a dictionary my mother had when I was a kid. It was one of the last editions of the Oxford English Dictionary complete in a single volume. It was freakin' huge!
Not sure if a trilogy counts, but if so the answer has to be "Foundation" by Isaac Asimov. Technically there were seven books, but the first three were written well before the other 4 that are essentially add-ons.
Wikipedia lists the longest books by word count, with the top having 1,200,000 words. Some french book I've not heard of or seen listed here. But it shows Foundation as having over 1.5 million. Told you it was long!
Stephen King
but I think this guy beat us all
And it was freaking awesome.
There were a few close seconds, looking at word counts.
