Trick question: If you are old enough to die for your country you are old enough to drink a damn beer.

I would not buy an alcoholic drink for anyone, let alone an underage person.

Soldiers should not be at a bar in uniform regardless.

The argument that they are old enough to die for their country so why not drink also goes for being old enough to know right and wrong. And it's wrong to ask people to break the law and it is wrong to give drugs and alcohol to young people, especially people who already have enough to deal with without worrying about alcoholism and it's consequences.

Although I understand the desire to show support to our service members, it is still against the law. Our service members are still supposed to do what is right and legal. I am speaking from having served 21 years in the Navy. I never believed that the only way to honor my brothers and sisters was to raise a drink in salute to them. I don't drink alcohol at all, but I fully support changing the law to 18 for all, not just service members. But until then, it is still against the law.

i am in the us army and i am stationed in vicenza Italy. its legal over here for 18 yr olds to drink. i have brothers in arm that are down range right now and i have recently lost a brother from indirect fire. my brother who was also there and experienced the death of our fellow soldier was RTU. he took shrapnel and was injured. when he got sent to the states he was not able to drink at the memorial that was held at the bar our brother went too. once he got bak here it is ok for him to purchase it and consume it. obviously you have heard it before; you can sign up to kill and take life and possibly commit the ultimate sacrifice but you cant have a drink?

It's odd, the kid is brave enough to fight for our freedom but 64% of us are too afraid of their government to exercise that freedom and buy the serviceman/woman a drink. It really is a sad commentary on how weak and afraid we have become.

Yes I definately would. If they can put their life on the line for us then by all means they should be able to drink an alcholic beverage.

I would have consider the circumstances, but I've always felt that if a person is old enough to die for his country...then he's old enough to have a drink.

Without any hesitation, followed by a smile and a "thank you."
