What would you do if you won the lottery?

prosperhappily 2012/03/29 16:03:14
You!
Add Photos & Videos
I'm not talking about about a small win. I'm talking about all the money you and your loved ones would ever need.

I once met a man who won $1,000,000 at the lottery. He was a college professor. He loved what he did & he didn't change his lifestyle one bit. He kept his job. He still took the bus to work & wore sweats most of the time.

Most of the people I've met, however, say that they'd quit working, or at least change fields.

What would you do?

On 50 million, cash out into US Treasury Certificates. Deposit all into Swiss Bank account. Move out of the country, that will be known only to me along with about 5 new identities . Break down the total into 5 major World Banks. In my new foreign home, have a vault built to hold 5 million in gold coins and other world currencies. 10 million will be invested into World Trade Stocks options with a continuous 'up sell' to profit goals. Profits used to buy and sell Corporations world wide.
Let's see, what am I forgetting?...Oh yeah, a fleet of private jets and limos to anywhere in the world.

I would divide some of the money for my kids, and I would get a cabin by a lake so when I went fishing, I would be able to stay for as long as I wanted with all the comforts of home. I would buy houses, and fix them up, and sell or rent them. I love making something ugly into something pretty. I would go home and visit my family and throw alittle money around to anyone that needs it. Of course, I would give to charities, in particular, for childrens hospitals and care.

Open a trust fund for my kids, give lots of money to the local school, travel more and travel first class, buy a small house in the Caribbian, but other than that I wouldn't change much, I'm having fun the way things are now.

LOL I am a stay at home mama so..yeah I would not stop that:) BUT my hubby could retire and we would move to a nice piece of land in the moutains and raise cows/horses/chickens and train hunting dogs. Basically live a low key life that we would love hunting and fishing and raising kids:)
First tho I'd take 20% off the top to tide to my church. Then pay taxes. Then squrrel away college money for our kids and a couple of kids I know down the street that I am sure will not get through to college unless they have some help(they are so sharp but their circumstances are very low).
    Then we buy our land/ranch.
    A couple new cars.
Live on the rest as we raise our babies...maybe we'd get to adopt two or three more:) I LOVE babies and kids. But adopting a baby is harder then winning the mega lotto!
    -----------------------------...
I have a couple I know that won the lotto (BIG) and he stopped working bought a really nice place out in the sticks ...bought their kids houses and a couple new cars.
Some trips to Disney land and a cruise or two. They are enjoying their time/money. It was funny how it worked out she had been laid off and he HATED his job(in administration at a school and had thought he would have to work for another 10-15 years before he could retire...he loved the kids but he was so tired of dealing with all the liberal teachers and crappy parents). Then they won!! I was SO HAPPY for them and could not happen to nicer people:)...

I hate to have to admit it but I'd have to hire a law firm to handle some of the paper work for creating several trusts and non-profit corporations.

I hate lawyers. It is just discusting to think one would have to do something like that to hang onto as much of the money as possible.

After that, I have some very special pet projects that I'd put some money into.

I would head to Texas to see my daughter and then go to California just to see how it's changed since I lived there. I would invest in some real estate to keep income coming in and help so many people that I know you could use some help. I might even find a deserted beach and just relax for about a week.....I would invest the rest of the money wisely and make it work for me. :)

I've used this joke a million times but I'll do it again. I'd fill my pants because I could afford new pants.

I'd quit the job I currently have and land myself a part time gig at a comic store. Build a big, really conspicuous castle in the middle of my prairie home town, no kidding around, moat and everything. Give a bunch to some of my family and then throw the rest around like a drunken sailor.
