Knock on wood, I've had no real injuries in my lifetime. The worst has been my baby toe. I have broken it several times and it comes out of joint every time I stub it on something. (I love to go barefoot, so I've learned to live with the chances of hitting it). Again, I feel very fortunate this is my worst.
Its between my left side, when I was 3 I slipped and hit a corner. I was suppose to bleed out and die. Another injury thats the worst in my life is my left eye, its blurry and can't be corrected with glasses. Its negative 200. My right eye however is 20. If my parents would have listened to me when I was younger, then they could have corrected my left eye.
My old cat jumped me and since it was night and all the lights were I tripped down the stairs, nothing broke, but the railing gave me a gash on my side.
Picture it:
A bunch of 11 year olds playing duck duck goose, half in the gravel and half in the grass. You hear the: duck, duck, duck, GOOSE!!!
The girl gets up and sprints after the other girl as fast as she can. She makes a wild turn onto the gravel and skid! Plop!
Next thing you know there's blood everywhere and the girl's fighting off tears.
The lowly trained camp counselors race over, put disinfectant on it and a huge band-aid. Viola! All fixed up. Then during morning prayer the girl literally colapses from blood loss, and has to go to the hospital for stitches.
If you haven't guessed by now that that girl was me...
I still have the fricking scar.
It's a tie between a wrist fracture I got while ice skating maybe 15 years ago, and the torn meniscus in my left knee that required surgery and a whole bunch of rehab (since I also had pretty bad chondromalacia) that happened last summer that prevented me from starting law school. Grrrrr.
i was cleaning one day and desided to vacume under my bed since im piette i could fit my whole body under neath it so i could do a through cleaning under my bed thats when the bad suddenly clasped while i was under it leaving me pined down lucky i had somone over at the time and that person decided to come in and see how i was doing and had lifted the bed frame off me, no one could hear me scream and i was hardly breathing. i already knew that i busted my ribs and a collar bone you can't do much to fix that but give it time to heal.
i got a concussion from flying off my bike i was going full speed and found out the fun way at last minute that the breaks were'nt working, i had been going down i steep hill then flew into a brick wall.
sprained anke from trying to go down the half pipe on my sister's skateboard and whiplash from a car accedent a couple months ago my back still hurts hella bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!
open reduction and fixation of the left clavicle - I still have the steel pin in the bone
it was a car accident a 60 ford starliner tangled with a brand new 64 pontiac and a fat guy driving the ford I was in - he crushed me agianst the door breaking some ribs and the collar bone - they didnt put seat belts in cars in '64
i would say running through a glass door and having to get 18 stitches on my face. yeah, sounds kinda lame compared to some others, but it's a lot cooler than when i broke my arm (i didn't even cry, it was so lame.) plus, there was blood spewing everywhere and shattered glass all over the room. you know that's at least a little cool.
I've been in car crash, broken my ribs, my arms, fructured my skull. Had my hand cut open by a kitchen knife, other random dislocations. But my worst injury, was a mental injury, I suffered PTSD after a incident that left me in miserable panic and deppression for months.
I think my worst was the motorcycle wreck that netted me 157 stitches in my head....a shattered cheek bone that is now plastic...and my jaw broken in 4 places. Other than that all the rest of them seem minor. Trust me...there were a lot...I was the most accident prone child alive.
I was beat up by an old boyfriend, and woke up in the hospital with a fractured jaw, broken left humerus, broken left foot (all the metatarsals), a concussion, ligature marks around my neck and 17 stab wounds, 14 of which required stitches. My own Mom didn't recognize me in the hospital.
I broke my eye and had to stay in the hospital for a week with sand bags around my neck to keep me from moving my head....I lost 75% eyesight in my right eye. 1978 was the year. I have adjusted but it was a hard one.
