I couldn't decide between History or Math so i picked History because that's one of the subjects where i have my worst grades. But i hate Math too, why do we have it, the calculator can do it for you.

Especially Algebra! My teachers were sadists, who deep down really despised kids.

17-years old and I nearly got an "F" in Basic Math!!!!! One summer session of math in intermediate school (middle school?) saved me, by giving me one credit. That credit was a true blessing!!! (i must have known at age 13, that i would need that extra credit one day!!!!!)

I know EXACTLY what you're talking about. Today I'm fine with accounting type math, converting measurements for dosages and cooking, but Algebra still escapes me, for the most part. My youngest daughter is a math whiz, she has been taking college level math classes since the beginning of high school. She actually taught ME some basic Algebra solving- which I should have learned in about 7th Grade!

It takes me a while to convert measurements for cooking. And when ordering supplies for the office! Oh man did I run into problems when I was working!!!! Ordering in "units," "per box," and "bulk" were nightmares for me!!!! Which is why BASIC MATH is so important to comprehend in daily life.
I am just so bad when it comes to math. I still have problems when balancing my checkbook~~~~~~~~
Your daughter sounds like she would do well at MIT. I KNOW she won't have any problems getting into a college of her choice!!! You have one VERY SMART daughter there!

My daughter wants to join the Air Force and become a Canine Handler for Security Forces. She COULD make a fortune as a math tutor, but that's not exciting enough for "Miss Fearless Flossie". LOL!
Do what I do for the basic stuff-- use a calculator!

I think I might've done better in algebra and even passed if the professor wasn't so strict.

That only made it more difficult for you, I'm sure. Some people choose the wrong profession by becoming teachers. You have to LOVE educating others with encouragement, patience and your knowledge to be successful. Both of my parents are teachers. My Dad was a History Professor for 60+ years, and my Mom taught Elementary and Middle School for almost 50. They both loved what they were doing in the classroom, which makes a huge difference.

This Algebra teacher I had was chosen specifically to teach students who had learning disablities and who's most difficult subject was math. Not only that, she was was said to be very patient and understanding. She came highly recommended. But she proved to be too hyper and too rigid to her students when they deviated from her guidlines in passing Algebra. One such student was yours truly.

I can see that happening. She probably put on her best Sunday School dress,
and put on a show worthy of an Academy Award. There is no telling how many kids she frigged up who could have learned with a good teacher.

I voted math, and I became a computer geek who is writing a dissertation involving lots of math. Sigh. Not high level stuff, just running statistics correlating TAKS scores to GPA and art GPA, but it's math.

That that was because I had to carry my kit in my bag which got too full and heavy, and if I had separate bag I had to always keep it in mind so I wouldn't forget it :(, so no time for learning.

I should say P.E., since it's the only subject that ever actually made me throw up, and I mostly enjoyed math until I started getting into multivariable calculus. Still, no other subject can be as frustrating as math once you (or at least I) start running into difficulties.
