12hr car drive to Atlanta, GA. I only stopped twice for gas and to use the restroom. I had been up for 33 hrs straight by the time I got there and then 5 days later, made the trek back home. It was worth it!!! :o)
One time I drove from San Jose, CA to Eugene, OR *non-stop.* My Dodge B250 (1 ton cargo van) had a 35 gallon tank and got over 20 MPG. That was a little over 600 miles and about 9-10 hours. Stopped at Eugene to fill up and then drove on into Salem.
Other long trips that did involve stops along the way (rest stops and gas stops) some as a driver and some as a passenger:
San Diego, CA to/from Salem, OR Alameda, CA to/from Salem, OR (several times) Denver, CO to/from Richland, WA Salem, OR to Pueblo, CO (two trucks w/trailers and a mini van; 4 drivers; 47 hours) San Diego, CA to/from Vegas Union City, CA to/from Vegas Union City, CA to/from Reno Norfolk, VA to Orlando, FL
Let's see...
South Carolina to Michigan, South Carolina to New York (bus ride, still somewhat unpleasant), South Carolina to Washington, DC (also somewhat unpleasant). God, I hate long car rides!
It was a bus ride to New York with the band from Kentucky. Miserable bus ride but had a great time in between. New York is really fun when you've got good friends with you.
The Hot Rod Power Tour, we took 9-weeks of Vacation time in 2002 with my best Friend outta` St. Louis and his car, we went from St. Louis to Memphis to Nashville to Ashland N.C. to Daytona, FL back north to Little Rock AR to, Tulsa to Wichita, KS to Denver, CO to Sheridan, WY. to Omaha, NE to Kansas City, MO where we dropped out.. after some totals of 6344-Miles. in this Old 59` Ford Ranch Wagon with, a 351 Windsor V8 from a 79` F-100 and AOD> and Air Cond. + Cruise control
as a child: we drove from Los Angeles, CA to Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
2700 miles. I was young so I'm uncertain about the details (did we stop to sleep somewhere or did my mom and step dad take turns and we drove straight through?).
as an adult: from Santa Barbara, CA to Dallas, TX.
1500 miles. This was in 2009. We took 3 days for that trip stopping for breaks to stretch, eat, sleep.
I can handle road trips until about 1,000 miles... then it seems to take FOREVER and I always wish I had taken a plane instead.
Maybe 5,000 miles from Raleigh, N.C. to Glacier Park in Montana and back. Actually more because we took all kinds of side trips on the way - St. Louis, Kansas City, Denver, Aspen. Most interesting bar was the Cowboy Bar in Jackson, Wyoming - it had actual saddles for bar stools! Loved seeing snow on the ground in July at Independence Pass, Colorado.

Google says it would be about 20 hours today. 1,211 mi approx.
27 hours with stops.
8 hours roughly, it was horrible.
