You are not on a text message. You are not an LOL Cat. Spell out your words. Seriously, cutting out a letter takes what, half a second off your time to type it? It is one thing to do it on a phone, while you are actually texting, and quite another on a website like SodaHead. You look like an idiot, a lazy idiot and you are not worth my time.

Have it to agree, it is extremely annoying. I remember it once took me 2 days to find out what "ROTFLMAO" meant and the person who sent it was a very educated person who counseled young at risk teens. I think that if we expect children nowadays to be less apathetic and succeed then we should definitely take the initiative to spell out a few words.

I ask people to speak english all the time too! The only time I every used text language is when I am in a rush, or really don't care too much to have a proper conversation! I love getting on Facebook to see: Man I ned 2 gedda job or something. Why do I have to ponder over what your sentence says!

It's on our shoulders. We've allowed this to happen by placing teachers that don't want to
'stifle creative impulses' and just dumb everything down to the lowest common denominator rather than holding students to standards of achievement excellence. That's considered racist and mean spirited, though. Hurtful too.

Wrong about what exactly? Do you know every teacher; every school; every different state's behavioral criteria? No, I daresay you don't. Just because YOU don't know a single teacher that 'finds this attitude acceptable' doesn't mean that the attitude doesn't prevail. Nor does it mean that I am 'categorically wrong' (though what you mean by that is beyond me) the question wasn't about wrong or right.

Not one person I know who is a teacher allows "text talk" in school. Saying it's the teacher is a load of crap. It's not the teachers, it's the parents and and media. Thanks for playing the blame game though.

I get so annoyed when people do this. Especially when they are debating or just trying to make a point with someone. When I read writing like that it just sounds so uneducated and immature. Or like even when someone is trying to insult you like that, it's utterly laughable to me.

Yeah, it annoys me when people overdo text speak. A little is okay, but most of it is hard to read after a few lines. I don't even type like that when I text unless I'm being sarcastic (see above).

OH My!!! Thank you for this post. I do it occasionally as in WTF. However as a rule I spell out my words, and try to use proper grammar and punctuation. I am so tired of trying to translate this ridiculous text speak on the internet. It is NOT your buddy on the phone. People judge you on how you present yourself. If you present yourself as someone who seriously has difficulty with the written word, no one will ever take you seriously. It is just laziness.

I dont do it as far as i know but this is what the next generation does.As far as they are concerned,its the way they communicate.
