i grew up in a very violent home, and no matter how much i try to escape it, the memories will always be stuck in the back of my mind like shards of embeded glass.

The Perpetrators should be prosecuted and the victim needs help. This is a pattern and No one deserves to be beaten; let alone by some one that is supposed to love You. I say that from experience.

Hmmm... if it's really as awful as people say, then waterboarded. Seriously, they should all be tied up in a line and have some dude going down the line, kicking them in the nads over and over and over and they have to watch and nervously await their turn. The other part is that the spouses they beat up and a whole lot of really attractive females, get to stand and watch, laugh and point.

I take it you mean man/woman (not children).........they should be locked up, and forced into therapy group.........I believe that a man/woman who is domestically violent probably grew up in a home of domestic violence..........with treatmetn I believe they can change their behavior.

Now I'm not talking about child abuse.........that is different...........

I lived with a man who was physically abusive when he was drunk........when sober is was as sweet to me as ever...........I don't think he would ever have harmed a child..........his dad was an alcoholic...........we divorced, but I think he could have changed it he had someone to really help him.........jail time, forced therapy of some kind, probation..............I don't know.

I feel differently toward child abusers........let then hang...........

Yes! Much as I'd like to haul off and slug someone who commits sadistic bullying acts of domestic violence, and I definitely get horrified and angry enough just on hearing about it to want to smack the abuser, and there is definitely justification to hurt the abuser in self-defense and defense of whoever else he or she is abusing, there's a big difference between self-defense and justifiable horror and rage about it, and sadistic revenge. You torture them and laugh and point etc. mutilate them to death, you become them. I'd rather let them know in no uncertain terms just how utterly despised they are and that it's their own fault for being punished, and then have them locked up for good with no visitors and definitely no getting back together with whoever they abuse or finding a new partner. Or ship them off somewhere to live on their own without anyone else around to abuse. As long as they couldn't abuse anyone ever again, and they could be made to realize they lost all their power and deserved to lose it, and that if they died, no one would miss them.

I agree with you for 90% of them, but he was an alcoholic and that was the only time he was abusive....if he could have got tx for his alcholism he may have been a different man.........he would have to fight the urge to drink always and be under probation so he could be monitored..........but it was the alcohol that promted his aggressive abusive behavior..............I don't know....
