Most of us do our best to follow the rules when we're on the road, but life happens. Maybe you were running late to a meeting, risked going a few miles per hour over the speed limit, and got caught; maybe you didn't realize there was a "No Right on Red" sign and went for it, even though you know there was a police car right behind you. Even talking on your phone can get you in trouble in most states.

I hold my hands out the window to show the Officer I am unarmed and I then tell them "I am an ex military commander." Right off the bat it tells the Officer he/she is not in any danger and they almost always cut me a break for cooperating with them!

I told the truth years ago about my mother being in the hospital for an emergency. Turns out she would have died had I NOT taken her in. Still got the ticket anyway. But I can just IMAGINE what some of them have done to get out of a ticket.

I was gonna get a ticket for banging this girl in the front seat of her car...i gave the cop my license and he looked like he was gonna write me up.....then he noticed something hanging outta my wallet and he asked for it....it was my military ID.....I then informed him that I this was my first time back home since I joined the Air Force......he said, "oh, you are on leave huh, where is your first duty station gonna be?" I told him Misawa, Japan....he wished me good luck and told me to just find a more suitable place. I didn't really pull out the ID to get away with it, but it helped.
Man, I sure miss that girl!

anyway, if people had any integrity they would not be speeding in the first place. Also the whole idea of a speed trap is ludicrous. A term made up by chronic speeders.

On many, many occasions I weasled out of a ticket because either the officer or deouty knew me personally from working as a victim's advocate, or because I went to school with them, or they had a child who was friends with one of my daughters. Shameless, but that's the way the game goes!!!!

but some possibilities come to mind.

Ok,
1. Quickly remove panties and toss on the dash. When he(or she) looks just smile and say things were getting warm. Of course that might no work for reasons obvious to anyone who knows me.

2. Fumble with a vibrator and sweetly ask what size batteries are in his/her flashlight.

3. Smile and say its about time I was pulled over, just make sure your cell phone number is on the ticket,..

I tried to show him my legs and winked at him. He just got angry and raised the speed that I was driving by ten miles an hour. Cost me an extra $50 dollars. I don't know why he got angry, I have great legs.

I jokingly told the deputy that I was in a hurry to get my mother in laws crock pot home to soak - I had had it due to a family reunion. I said she could be an angry bear.

I am always polite and never deny what I did (if I actually did something wrong) and more often than not I get just a warning.

As far as shamelessness goes, I personally believe it's totally shameless and unethical to sit in a speed trap and extort money from people for predictably driving over a speed limit that's way too low for the road it's on.

I also have no ethical problem with lying to people who are abusing their authority, in order to avoid them abusing you...but nevertheless, I'm pretty much hardwired to tell the truth unless it's imperative I don't.

One time, the truth was that I really didn't know. That other time, the truth was that my reason for speeding was more important to me than arbitrary laws that shouldn't have been written in the first place...but I told the truth in a somewhat less confrontational manner. ;)
