It just seems that every woman that I meet is doing so well as to be immovable, or that they have screwed their life up so bad that I don't want to be a part of it.

I don't mind though, it's always a give and take relationship for me. I'm perfectly happy to provide financial security in exchange for something of value to me. Even relationships that seem to have been built on "pure love" are conditional for most folks.
To those who object, let me ask you this: Would you be with your significant other if they were opposite of you in politics/religion/life philosophy? If you can honestly say yes, then I think you are free to hate on the "Gold Diggers" all you want. As for the rest of you, the first sign that your love isn't "pure" would be some retort about how "Gold diggers" are terrible and you would still be with your mate, even if they were a baby killer.

I always like the dumb ones that are doing the sizing when they ask me what I do for a living... so I tell them I have my own very small company that goes to the three local video rental places after closing to rewind the DVD's... The typical response... Wow does that pay a lot! you have to laugh!

and not about cherishing .. wanting to be with anyone (or you) ..

Yep, it's all about the so-called 'portfolio' these days. Woman sees me with my 10 yr, old Ford Escort, and right away thinks she knows all there is to know about me. And by that, I will have her all figured out as well....She'd just be another 'shallow gold digger' that I don't need in my life! I prefer to have a woman to love me for who I am. Not what wealth I have.
To them I say "Keep on searchin and diggin, honey, cuz you just passed up THE real pot of gold!"
