I'm sure that if you were really worried about your personal safety, you could obtain a firearm through "less than legal" means. The world is awash in guns and guerrilla movements, and other subversive elements, never seem to have a problem getting their hands on them.

Having lived all over Southern and Central Africa have seen all sorts of nonsense.
From the explosion of Katanga in the Congo lived next town but one from the Congo border in then Northern Rhodesia.
Survived the Bush war in Rhodesia and saw first hand the ruin Mr. Mugabe brought to that little patch of paradise.

I wish I could offer some constructive advice, but it would probably ring hollow. I'm just glad I don't live anywhere on the African continent. It sounds like you're living in Hell! If I were in that situation, I would move Heaven and Earth to find a way to get out of there! That is the road down which liberalism will take any country that follows its lead. At the risk of sounding reactionary, I still maintain that the African continent would have been better served had the colonial powers maintained their hold on Africa. The "savages" have shown themselves to be totally incapable of self-government.

We whites have been in this part of Africa for 360 years have ancestors going back to the 18th and early 19th century on both sides of the family.

My paternal Grandfather and Grandmother were in a British Concentration camps as kids during the Boer war. Hundreds of thousands died in those camps. Hell we fought and died for this land, sod them wont leave on principal.

Wow!! I was never close to anything like that. My brother lives in England but he is a recluse and wouldn't even try to see this. I wish he would so I could go and take a look.

My Brother lives in the US. lol. I think it is good for Britain and there are a lot of flags out at the moment, in England the English flag, because England are playing in the European Championships and the Union Jack because of the Jubilee and the Olympics. Feeling patriotic a little, lol.
