This takes a certain emotional enlightenment and training but if you can look at someone you love and strip yourself of all desire for that person and the way he/she makes you feel for a moment. The desire to be with, touch, have sex with, their money, their car, their house, the style of clothes they wear and even the music they listen to or play. If you can strip yourself of all the things that make you feel good about being with that person and still find that you love that person. Then you're probably in love. Love is a very subjective and selfish emotion for a lot of people. This is why many relationships fail. Albedo 9.0

Love is something that needs to be cared for and nurtured every day. I've been married for 39 years and everyday I want to find a way to make the day good for my spouse. We've had our ups and downs but love has to be a 50/50 proposition. You each have to sacrifice some of your wants and needs for the other.
