I only own two types currently. I have two corn snakes and two balls pythons. They are both good types of constricting snakes to have as pets. I like venomous snakes, but I think they should be left in the wild. I like that my corn snakes eat better than my ball pythons, but I like the personality of my ball pythons better. I prefer ball pythons. Someday in the future I plan on getting a boa. I do realize that red-tail is just a in store name for the boas. They are actually just boa constrictors and there are many types.

P.S. I can see people answering this question with some perverted thoughts in mind.

I've had several different kinds over the years, but I guess I was really partial to my two King Snakes.

hey, take it easy...the question was there and I had to say it. Besides, getting bitten by a copper head as a kid didn't exactly endear me to snakes as a whole. (But I know they are there for the ecosystem.)

I wish I could volunteer at a zoo. The closet zoo to me is in Philly or New York. I've been to both before. Although I do believe there is a place called Reptile Land that is closer. I went on a field trip there many years ago. I got a blue stuffed animal snake.

Mine looks a little bit different that. I actually still have it somewhere I believe. I got it when I was eight, so it's over ten years old now.

    1. Those that live naturally in the wild are cool
    2. Those damned invaders that people have let loose or escape, that are caught, and exterminated. Exotic snakes should be illegal.

I find the picture you posted disturbing and it gives me an uneasy feeling... I can't bear to look at a snake in that condition. Although, people are more at fault for the problem snakes are causing.

Your snakes are exterminating all the native species in south Florida. Deer (that was in that snake), dogs, cats, even alligators. Only a matter of time before they cut one open with a dead child inside.

I don't own a Burmese python or any large snake. My snakes wouldn't even be able to eat a small dog and they won't get big enough too. Besides it's instinct as to why they are doing it. Sorry, but I don't even live anywhere near Florida. I don't see how I'm contributing to a problem like that. The people in Florida that bought and released them should be held responsible. I feel bad about the snakes though. They are just doing what they were programmed to do. They don't understand anything that's going on, but people like us do.

Exotic pets have a way of escaping (or being released) which then in many cases causes extreme environmental damage. Besides snakes, rodents, amphibians, lizards, and insects, simple things like aquarium plants have taken over many lakes and waterways. Kudzu was pretty, until it covered everything. Kudzu bugs were supposed to eat Kudzu, but instead they have devastated the soy crops. The list goes on and on, and most all because some people thought their little pet or plant wouldn't cause any harm, they would be careful, etc,...
