Nothing shows off your family traditions better than the home cooked and seasoned turkey and of course your family "secret" recipe dressing. Cornbread stuffing made with cornbread sage, thyme, celery and spare turkey trimmings and giblets and dont forget the buttermilk eggs and a couple cups of drippings from the turkey

My mom and I just talked about this. In fact, it was the only traditional thanksgiving item we had this year. We had prime rib instead of turkey, twice baked potatoes instead of mashed, french bread instead of rolls, annd green bean casserole with an apple pie for dessert. It was just the two of us this year, so we decided to splurge on a few pricey to make dishes instead of making a ton of things and having loads of left overs.

Cranberry sauce is both good for you and tastes good. Green bean casserole and mashed
spuds with lots of gravy rank a close second and tight third in that order with me.

Cranberry Sauce

Chunky home made cranberry sauce. So easy to make that you don't have to rely on the canned, jelly-like cranberry sauce. Such a huge difference in flavors. Once you make it, you'll never go back to the canned stuff. Just follow the recipe on the back of the bag of fresh cranberries.
