I like all of the above, but I prepare my own mincemeat for our mincemeat pies. I usually bake our fruitcakes too, but not this year. Homemade is always better!

My mother's recipe for pecan pie is, hands down, the best I have ever eaten and I make it every Thanksgiving. People rave over how much better it is, and my mother only changed 1 ingredient when making it. It is so good.

Ideal Thanksgiving Day Menu:

Sausage Stuffing. Mashed Potatoes (made using ricer; ask grandma what a ricer is). Asparagus topped with butter. Baked Potato ( not foil wrapped, cooked naked in oven ), topped with crumbled bacon and butter. Asparagus in cheese Sauce. Kosher hot dogs (broiled, not boiled), covered with onion sauce.

Dessert Choices:
New York Cheese Cake
Italian Cheese Cake
Marble Cheese Cake
Cannoli
Cream filled Eclair
Pumpkin Pie topped with real Whipped Cream
Hot Deep dish Apple Pie topped with French Vanilla Ice Cream
NFL Lions-Packers

Who needs Turkey.?

I know everybody will probably say this..That theirs is the best..Or theyre mom's, grand-ma's or aunt's pie is the best..But my mom's pumpkin pie rules ! I just love it..It aint no store bought Mrs. Smith's..& good home made Dutch Apple or Raspberry or Blueberry Pie comes in tied for 2nd for me..
