The first time I saw a black rose I was a kid and my neighbor grew beautiful roses. Some were black with shades of purple in the center or black with shades of red. I love them..

That is a beautiful rose. There are many hybrid roses now that create such a variety of different and mixed shades.

So many roses today hardly have any smell esp. the ones from the florist. Back in the day.. oh they smelled so strong and wonderful and each color had a scent of it's own

I did, and I love how different roses can mean so much; even the amount of roses given can signify something. I've always thought it was really special to give a single rose, because it seems like the buyer would've spent some time going over all of the options and picking the best one. The gesture just seemed sweet, but now that it has a meaning, I'll appreciate it all the more.
