Being a creative director for a video game company, or better yet, owning a softward company. I'd love to spend my time coming up wtih ideas for video games and 3D programs to teach students and new employees.
I'd like to be independently wealthy (win the lottery) and head up a non profit organization to do charitable work. There are many impoverished families in my area in which parents work 2-3 jobs and still have nothing. I'd like to do things like purchase homes and have them repaired - then give the homes to those families - with no mortgage. The taxes they would have to pay would be significantly less than what they currently pay in rent. It would be nothing too fancy, but a home of their own. I'd like to help women from a local crisis center who have been in terribly dangerous relationships to relocate - safely. I'd also like to foster dogs who have been rescued from abusive owners/situations.
Have you thought about something called a 'social enterprise' governments often give money to charity quite willingly, but you have to have a good business idea, a market and some initiative.
I've considered it. I just have to write grant proposals... It is something that I have thought about, though. I just have to get my life organized enough to do it.
