Oooooooooo I dated a fellow when I was in high school who had one and would drive it only on perfect weather condition days. :-) His was red. That was in the early '60's. Man, did I love seeing that little car pull in the drive. i knew I was in for an adventure!!
How well i understand! I went from a Mopar 400 4 bbl to sedans, PUs for hauling, and vans. I think there was even a Pacer in there awhile as a second vehicle for me to drive!! lol!!
A Pacer !! The window that thought it was a car! Actually rode in one that a friend owned and was amazed at the spaciousness.
Definitely out of the sports car class, now - Mitsubishi convinced me. Rented a 2012 Eclipse - You need a shoe-horn to get into it, the blind spots when looking to the rear are enormous, the seats aren't comfortable, and the supsension rides like it was designed by British Motors in the 1950s complete with their flippin' lever-arm shock absorber!
ROFL!!! For awhile we debated all kinds of vehicles and decided we could no longer roll in and out of one!! We also find being able to touch the ground while getting out can no longer be an option!! How on earth did all this happen? and When?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! i rarely drive anymore because of a physical issue, so the last time we got a vehicle - 16 months ago - I insisted my hubby get an Avalanche. We had one for a number of years and he loved it. I think since we have only one vehicle now, it should be one we both like, but he has to love to drive. The Avalanche seems to be the best of both worlds - he can use it to haul, yet we can have others with us for a very comfortable ride and the gas milage is fairly good. Actually the latter is better than normal. But i still lust for my '62 impala convert wht on wht@ red interior! I took my driver's test with one and would love to have another, 10 MpG and all!!
Every one of those choices are fantastic and I'd love to have the money to be able to own them but my own personal favorite car was my first one. A 1956 Chevy 210 model Belair 2 door post. I had to sell it back in 1980 but I "still" have dreams about that old car.
I remember years ago someone asked Bill Cosby why so many black people had really nice cars and yucky houses, supposedly his answer was "You can't go no place in a house!". You can in THAT house... of course it cost more than most peoples homes!
Now if it is to be a current production car, Probably a Volkswagen Bugatti Veyron EB 16.4 (the 1001 BHP super car with an 8-litre W-16 engine with four turbochargers)
0-60 in 2.3 seconds.
Now if it was a historical car of note, it would probably be the Mercedes Benz 300SEL6.3 sedan 1970 edition.
and #2 Mecedes SUV, Silver or gold in color
sitting in my garage right now !
a '59 and a '60 'bug-eye' Sprite,
...and a '59 100-6

289 V8
4 barrel carb
4 speed
AC
Bucket seats
dual exausts
and fins!
I've seen this particular car in real life, it is GORGEOUS!
And that's a Studebaker 289 (the one that set all kinds of records at Bonneville), not the later (and lesser) Ford 289.
Airstream Skydeck.
And if you have a car like this, you don't need a home because you can live in it, Lol.
Classis Road Runner
