What is up with all the public breastfeeding lately?

You!

Look, I am all for breastfeeding. Breastfeed until your baby is old enough to stop. Breastfeed up till two if you want. The WHO recommends it even. I am not one to judge when you should stop. But putting it on TV and scheduling photo shoots for it is not only annoying, but disruptive to your childs feeding schedule.

I nursed two children. I found a way to do it in private and be covered up. There is no reason to let the breasts run rampant. (LOL). If there was no way to do it discreetly in the location where I was, I politely excused myself and my child and found somewhere where I could do it peacefully. Children don't like disruptions in schedule anyway, and I tried to plan my dinners out accordingly or pump and carry to make public situations more comfortable.

So whats up with the Public Display of Boobage?

No anger..You just don't know what you are talking about...It really saddens me that a fellow American is being failed by their school system. Smack one of your teachers for me.

Predates the Constitution by Millenia, and is the Best way to feed a child.
Every mother has the essential and innate Human right to Nurse her child at the breast.
Every child has the Basic Human Right to be Nursed by their Mother.
Also, try arresting a woman for Nursing her child and see what happens.
The cops will laugh at you, and in my case I'll press charged for harrassment, wrongful prosecution, etc..
AND there'd be a crowd with torches and pitchforks looking for you. LOL :-)
Yes, I know you're kidding i saw your comment below so I ended this with a joke.

Get some class regarding what, exactly?
I've made my views on covering up as clear as anyone can--preferred for Mom as an anti-ogling maneuver and possibly better for baby as it muffles possibly disturbing sounds and light.
So, your problem with me is what?

Marlene, why not use pre-filled breast milk bottles? Sign me up for any legislative backed public (anti-breast feeding) domains. Also, if brand named restaurants and community living quarters are made to ban children (especially the ones susceptible to breastfeeding needs, I'll love to sign up for those too.

    So, you're against.
Doesn't faze me a bit and as far as the bags go...no way in hell, as like other 'food grade' plastics there's that BPS or BPA leaching from it, and it's lipophilic so it'd be drawn like iron filings to the 'magnet' of the fat in the milk.
At the end of the day, it works like this:
There's some women who'll do it in public, covered/uncovered whatever and some will be meekly submissive when confronted.
    ...then there's women like me.
If some flopwit ever makes the catastrophic mistake of aggressively confronting me while Nursing my child while we're covered and shielded, I can and will treat it as an assault against my child and myself.

meaning, I can and will hurt a man very badly, very quickly, and very expertly. This was proved last Friday, not over a Nursing issue, but the result was the same. One very badly injured assailant.
Husband & John taught me VERY well.

If I'm Nursing my child, and someone finds it 'disagreeable' they can be a mature adult, avert their eyes, continue on and effing deal with it. NOT my problem and they better not try making it my problem.
I don't give a damn if it offends people, and I don't do PolCorr, and if I've/we've met legal requirements I and other women like me are best Left Well Enough Alone.

There are breast pumps made of polypropylene plastic which is BPA and Phthalate free. So, there is no excuse for being disgusting and indecent (i.e., all of this food grade plastic and BPA leaching is a moot issue). Moreover, what self-respecting person would accost a cognitive-challenged woman whose breasts are exposed to the public without consulting with management first. Also, if you go off on Management or official personnel, they'll ask you to leave or threaten you with you with the use of force. I'm assuming you'll have do the assaulting without the baby in tow. In that case, don't be shocked if a large framed officer or management personnel (female preferably--but a male will do the job too) give you some blows to the head to knock some sense in that rattle-brain of yours. Violence is not the appropriate response. I know some people who'll put the hurt on you and be readily asking your husband or grown sons to join. I know I always go out with my large framed sisters or female friends, so I don't think you would want to go there. Nice rant though! LOL! I'll be glad when the adult-exclusive restaurants and neighborhoods begin. I think you're bring that to fruition quicker than expected. Thanks!

Yes, within appropriate means and guidelines, otherwise, do that at home or leave the baby with a babysitter. If you can't do that, stop having kids you can't afford appropriately care for.

Look you are without a doubt the most hyper person I have ever met online.

Chill out. Not EVERYTHING is spelled out in the constitution. Also, you seem to freak out really easily. Calm down.

No, you learned from society that the breast is a strictly sexual object(Which is false), thus objectifying all women and failing to realize that breast feeding is perfectly natural.

Ummm NO!!! I learned from MY GRANDPARENTS and PARENTS these particular virtues: DECENCY, RESPECT, and COURTESY (well I don't espouse that well) but like I said GET A ROOM AND FEED YOUR KID!!!

Just like how I don;t want to see a woman giving birth on camera (which is obviously not sexual) I do not want to see a woman breastfeed in front of me!!! Go ahead and do it...but when I do become a mother I won't disrespect me or my childs privacy!!! No one want to see a boob out im public irregardless of its functions!!! PLEASE!!!

You can't honestly believe that people should have to get a room to feed a hungry child. That would be sick.

Speak for yourself please. That bottom paragraph my be YOUR opinion, but many people disagree.

I agree that the breasts are sexual objects, but they like the public areas of the female and males are used for other purposes as well. You don't see people exposing those to the public. Also, the tongue can be used sexually as well. However, people carry it in there mouths in a respectable fashion, instead of letting it hang out like a dog's flapping (salivating) tongue does when it sticks its head out of a car's window.

SURE IT IS...a moment that should not be shared with the rest of the public IMO!!! Just like PDA, sex, proposals etc!!! Those are beautiful things as well that I feel should be between two individuals and not for the whole damn world to see(that is if they have CLASS)!!!

If this has got to be done, then I welcome the adult exclusive restaurants and neighborhoods. People are always trying to tow and inventually cross the line of decency. While many things humans can be considered natural (and beautiful), people need upkeep standards. What is the issue! Women have managed to carry on in society without breastfeeding in public for centuries. Why is the need considered a constitutional right to secrete their bodily fluids in public? As with all freedoms in society, the more women that do it, the more likely some bad mothers will begin leave breast milk on poodles on tables. Even squirting bottles in peoples faces because they cogitate that the milk is safe since it's legal. Until you get your first squirt of breast milk in your coffee, I guess you won't be satisfied; no, I take that back since you want share your new food trend with the masses.

I am afraid I lack the understanding as to why certain things grab the attention of popular culture.

If you find it annoying, there is hope. A few months from now, it will be something else.
