What is the point of those stupid courtroom sketches?

In this day and age of technology and information, why is this still around? And then on top of having sketches, they actually still blur out faces when showing the sketches on TV?? There's probably some crazy reason for this, but it just doesn't make sense to me.

I think that they should re-enact the courtroom drama with lego instead!
