There's an app for pretty much anything these days. Want to become more familiar with the constellations? There's an app for that. Want to learn Mandarin Chinese? There's an app for that. Want to know how to raise a child? Yep, there's an app for that, too. Of course, not all apps do what they're supposed to, but developers are constantly pumping out newer, better versions of failed ideas.
Apps make up a unique medium limited only by the devices they're made for, and they continue to evolve along with those devices. What's your experience with apps? Do you buy them "on the regular"? Do you let your kids? Let us know in our 8-Question Quick Poll.

Programmers are trying to get something on their resume so why pay more for something that just makes things a little easier or are merely interesting.

If I'm buying an app without trying a free version first, though, I'll be getting recommended it from everybody I know.
