How well is THAT working out??
The problem is that between 1995 and 2008 unemployment basically hovered around 5%, until 2008 when we entered the recession and unemployment skyrocketed. Anyone who has studied the most entry level economics course understands that lower taxation does not cause a recession (it actually works to prevent a recession if you understand what a recession is), only increased taxes can cause or worsen a recession (although even that is unlikely). What caused the recession was the housing bubble bursting when artificially low interest rates were raised to normal levels and millions of homeowners all of a sudden couldn't make the lowest payments on their loans. This caused banks to stop lending, slowing the economy, and people started saving their money, also slowing job growth.
At the very least google "u.s. unemployment rate chart" next time just to make sure the chart has an accurate rate in place (as you will see it obviously doesn't).
P.S. Also the fall between the effective tax rate (also somewhat misleading, would be better to have the marginal tax rate) wasn't a gradual thing, it was a drop 2003,...

P.P.S It is somewhat apt that you would use that chart on thread discussing the most ignorant things people have seen on this website. I think you might have just made the list.
have a nice day.
you too.
Correlation does not equal causation
however the correlation itself is enough to make my point.

LOL
And his equally imbecillic supporters BUY this and even claim it themselves..
In ALL my 60+ years,, I have NEVER seen or heard of ANY President ( or ANY adult,, for THAT matter ) ,, Republican OR Democrat,, who EVER tried this infantile behavior before let alone get away with it..
The FACT is.. we,, as parents,, have ALL seen this kind of behavior before when one of our kids got caught with his hand in the cookie jar and tried to blame his sister and we never let even THEM get away with it..

Are you sure? Obama may have said the the private sector is doing fine, but I doubt he said the middle class is doing all right.
Although politically incorrect, the statement appears accurate. Although individuals are hurting, private enterprise overall does seem to be "doing fine."
[QUOTE]
private sector
n
(Government, Politics & Diplomacy) the part of a country's economy that consists of privately owned enterprises Compare public sector
[END QUOTE]
"The President makes the correct reference that the private sector is doing just fine. They are at all an all-time high in profits. The Dow is up 50% since Jan 2009, the NASDAQ is up, the S&P; is up. All is up except employment. So the President was correct. I think we can all agree on this because as you continue to note corporations (capitalists) don’t exist to employ people — just make money and they are doing just fine in that." - http://www.washingtonpost.com...
A close contender is that list about "immigration reform" posted by a rwnj, that basically amounted to military force directly targeted at civilians, mass murder, crimes against humanity and the violation of free speech.
Naturally that list got a 93% approval rating by the fascists on this site.
