In the US, it is how one is prosecuted for their crimes based on who you are, how rich and powerful you are, and who you know. If you are any of the aforemention special people, you may get a slap on the wrist, you may get nothing, you may even get a book and movie deal and become famous. If you are a common citizen, you get the book thrown at you and your assets seized and given to the government. That's how the justice department gets it's nick name, the Just Us department.

justice is an abstract word that does not exist, you can't buy it , you can't make it in factory either. Howver, you can create the space and atmosphere where you can fabricate some sort of rules that makes the others happy and satisfied.
justice for one person is an oppression for another, rules or law for one person as form of justice is abuse and slavery for the others
so what is justice then? has no colour, no taste, no shape,
    but you can feel it
    you can enjoy it
and it remains abstract and under interpretations
it can be an intrument that makes others be either humans or animals.

as an "aside" not an answer, this question reminds me of this quote from Terrance Ratigan's play/movie, The Winslow Boy (excellent btw)

Sir Robert Morton: I wept today because right had been done.
    Catherine Winslow: Not justice?
Sir Robert Morton: No, not justice. Right. Easy to do justice. Very hard to do right.

Murderers death penalty.Rapist pedophiles and drug dealers life no parole.

All parole boards eliminated. Prisoners must serve the sentence given.

All liberal judges an oxy-moron anyway should be removed.

    And many more prisons built.

No gyms or excercise yards you go in a cell you stay there. When you come out be weak and pasty as a prisoner should be. No prison riots ever again using weights to attack guards.

Here in the United States, it is another word that begins with the Letter "J" . . . Similar in that respect to the word, Joke . . .

Well, actually, here in the United States, quite recently . . . It is very much similar to the word JOKE!!!

As Karl Popper writes in volume 2 of "The Open Society and Its Enemies", ...there are always at least two ideas of 'justice' (of of 'freedom' or of 'equality'), and these two ideas differ very widely indeed." Typically the definition is a product of the time and of the social class offering the definition. Popper goes on to tell how moral ethics are inherent in critical rationalism. Sorry, but it's a deep question for Soda Head.

"Justice" is the resolution of a dispute that's favorable to the complainant. The same resolution is "injustice" to the defendant.

Lets put it this way I spent 23 years as a cop in Miami, there is no justice. Someone messes with me or mine and I promise that the least they will have to worry about is the law.

first of all what i said was a joke, second of all even this way you still carry the law in a little different way, as you said you spent 23 year to be a policeman in Miami, i am not a policeman and i do not live in Miami either, so you know better how to handle the things there.
