(Senatobia, MS) Terry Jordan, of Tate County Mississippi, quickly fell in love with a home in Senatobia. It was a foreclosure and needed a lot of work. Her husband had just lost his job. He was going to fix it up and sell it for a profit to help them while they got through a tough time.

Jordan says she visited the home three times, her realtor taking the keys out of the lockbox on the door, and she went through an act of sale. She says she immediately got to work, spending thousands of dollars.

If she's only looking for the money that she's spent on renovations, the realtor should reimburse her. They were the ones who took her to the wrong house. I wonder if she had a lawyer for the sale and closing? You should always have a lawyer. Maybe this wouldn't have happened.

She is handling this a lot better than I would be. If someone did that to me I would be in jail for puting them in an ICU unit. She should sue not only the realtor for the thousands she spent fixing up the house but she should also sue for the amount she went into debt to purchase the home for. I applaude her for having better control of her temperment with this situation and handling it professionally unlike I would.

Mississippi has the very worst property title laws of any state in the US. My uncle lived there for nearly 25 years before he died. The title and deed to his home were ok, but the lot discription was wrong!!! The home was built on TWO ajoining properties, right across the property line. There had never been any activity on the other property and fortuneately it was found that it belonged to the county for failure to pay taxes. We all paid the taxes mergred the two properties into one and recorded the new deeds etc. THEN we obtained from the BLM the grant deed from the original land grand and sealed up the deal.

It is now a shared property with all the kids neices and nephews when we go to the coast.
