POWERSHAKER 2012/05/09 15:01:08soul pain+3I've lived forty years, and I can tell you one thing. There's nothing more terrible than to have spiritual (soul) pain. If the spiritual isn't okay, nothing is okay. Everything after that falls apart. There's a deep sadness that I have seen under the sun. It pierces to the very core of the self. It tears deeply into the very heart of a man. It sucks the life out of a person with no hope in sight. Pain in your soul (spiritual turmoil) is the worst thing anyone can go through. I know from experience. It took me a long time to recover and get through it. I hope none of you have to go through it.

but the pain in the soul burns forever
My father broke his femur recently, and I happened to be there. I can say that it really hit home to me what a friend physical pain can be. I was able to talk to him about his body and comfort him until the paramedics arrived because he could tell me where the pain was. I couldn't see the leg through his pants, so that helped me to know how to ease his mind.
Now that I think about this question, though. I am wondering. Is there a level of physical pain that is so bad that it becomes pain of the soul? I think so. Perhaps for injuries so bad there just isn't a good explanation for the injury. Another would be a physical injury which results from a real betrayal scenario...
The ultimate soul pain to me...betrayal...
They say all pains are growing pains, but I understand POWERSHAKER"S angle on it too. Thanks for that post. It hit home with me...
