My birthday is New Year's Day, my uncles is New Year's Eve, my grandmother is Groundhog day, and my great grandma was Valentine's day, and my niece is Christmas Eve.

Actually, I was the first born in the hospital, and the third born in the state in 1979, and my mother got a nice care package with diapers, wipes, blankets and some other things from the hospital :)

No, I'm born two days after New Year's Day. My best friend is born on Jan. 1st though and they didn't win any money. :( :P

I'm just about a groundhog (Feb 5), so the nearest would be New Year's and Easter, I guess. That's not including Groundhog Day, Valentines, and St Paddy's. :)

Unfortunately, no. I was born at 11:48 am, and there was another baby born around 4am. We almost got the the prizes though, because the other one was from a single mother, which had much more of a stigma back then & she didn't want the attention. But she changed her mind.

That isn't fair to change your mind and win the prize.

Say something before it is too late. It is too late to say something now but when you were first born it wasn't too late and then was when your parents should have said something.

True, but as I understand it, it was her right all along to claim the prizes. And basically, she didn't know that the prizes existed at first. She thought there would be just some recognition in the local paper & she didn't feel the attention alone was worth it. But once she learned that there were prizes, that was when she changed her mind. It wasn't really any money to speak of... A crib, a supply of diapers, etc.We're talking a small town in Indiana... And I remember my dad telling me that he really didn't mind that much, he said he'd rather see those things go to someone who needed it a lot more than we did.
