I grew up going to church. I was religious when I was younger, and I've read the bible. I decided that a lot of things just didn't make sense and I stopped believing. I respect everyone's beliefs, but please do not presume to tell me what I do or do not know.

Well, you were redeemed on Good Friday.

Whether you're saved or not depends on the state of your soul at death.

We must continue in the grace of Christ, as St. Paul clearly reminds us, or we too may be cut off.

Salvation is not a one-time thing.

yeah it kinda is For God so loved the world that he gave His only son so who ever believes in Him shall not die but have ever lasting life, Thats in the Bible. Jesus even told us the only way to Heven to be with our Lord Jesus Christ is to believe in Him. It's not about "doing" because you will never be able to "do" enough for God. Pluse He can do all that Himself. It's about having faith in God. In Jesus Christ.

Accepting Jesus as your Savior is an important beginning. But it is not the end.

And that one-time decision doesn't guarantee salvation -- your faith in Him must be continual to the end of your life.

This is also in the Bible: "See, then, the kindness and severity of God: severity toward those who fell, but God’s kindness to you, provided you remain in his kindness; otherwise you too will be cut off" (Rom. 11:22).

Paul wrote these words to people who had already accepted Christ. They had already been "saved" -- and he was clearly warning them that they could become "unsaved" if they did not remain faithful to God.

Again, your decision to accept Christ is a very important first step. But it is not a once-and-for-all guarantee of salvation. Paul's words in Romans 11 make that clear.

Elsewhere in the New Testament, he also speaks of "winning a race" in terms of salvation. Races are not won at the beginning. They're won at the end.

I don't really think thats what she was trying to say. Reading what she believes she is a Catholic and thats what they believe in. I on the other hand is in a differnt branch of christianty. I call myself a christian. So because our core is placed differntly then there will be some things that we do not believe in. As an example Catholic's believe it is important to babtize a baby in water, my church on the other hand can not find anything in the Bible that says to do so. I'm not saying she is wrong and I am right. For all i know we both can be wrong. But there is one thing I know I am right in. Jesus Christ is my Lord and savoir. He gave His life for me. I will love Him for the rest of my life because He first love me. this is a link to my chruch web site. If you are intersted you can look at what we are about. http://calvarycl.com/#/about-us

    Hey Jen
I commend you for trying to explain your views on Good Friday and Easter. Just a little advice from one believer to another.....don't spend your valuable time trying to mince words with the "UNBELIEVERS" on here.....they come to these pages attempting to offend us and disrespect our God. They find it easy and enjoyable to pick us and the bible apart....that way they don't have to look into their own sinful lives. I always found it very interesting that they would even bother to comment since they don't believe and certainly are not educated in the bible and its teachings. They are famous for one liners and zings (oh boy there goes another heathen spewing his or her opinions like they matter) I have followed Christ since I was a child and have done much studying...you and I are on the right path sister...Don't ever forget that girl!! Oh and to the heathens: I could care less what you think of me or my God.....'PUT THAT IN YOUR PIPE AND SMOKE IT BITCHES"...yup...that's right I said it and before you leave another rude comment...just know that your showing your evilness and lack of manners.....but of course for someone like you...that wouldn't matter....Go ahead hit me with your best shot....I'm laughing at you already
