Family is not people.
Yes, I know, our children are our worlds, but hear me out.

Family is a Bond:
an unspoken unity built of love, acceptance, trust, and a little bit of courage.

It exists when we learn:
to respect each other equally;
to believe in each other;
and to rely on ourselves.

    the love is unconditional..the acceptance is in the blood..trust unfortunately can go either way..because the first two cancels out anything else. now we have a different set of criteria for our friends that we may call "family"

    I'll agree, it's a bond-- one of loyalty to the end. All I have is my elderly parents.
    This is, and always has been, my Universe. We never turn our backs on each
    other, and we're always on the same team. No question, not for a moment.

    And now that I'm an adult, we're even better able to appreciate our time together.
