What do you think of the Belgians?

I live in Belgium and I was wondering what the rest of the world thinks about us: what are we like, what is our country like, do we have strange habits...
'French fries' are actually belgian fries ...

I'm from ....

California (America). My wife grew up there and we visited last summer with our children. We went to Huppaye, Wavre, Charleroi, and Brussels. The Commonplace was breathtaking!!!

thnks for answering :) It's a shame you didn't visit some small flemish towns, not that i don't like brussels: beautiful architecture and stuff, but it cannot beat a typical flemish town :p

I'm from ....

US (formerly UK). I've travelled through Belgium several times. I see it as a small, sensible country that is underestimated. It's a solid country with common-sense.
Nothing "small" about that. Thank you.

well with a total of about 10 million inhabitants, it's a bit obvious that some people underestimate our small country;; btw it appears that especially the Britains like to make fun of us, (no offence, just saying)

I'm from ....

German(including Swiss) and Dutch American, been to Germany and Switzerland and my cousin lives in Mons. I love the Flemish, but I've found I don't really like the Walloons.

No she's just like me, she's there because her mother is in the U.S. Military. But her hate of Walloons is almost religion to her haha :) we just don't

Germany
My mom is a belgian, so I am half Belgian half German. and to be honest I like Belgians much more than Germans (I like my Belgian sibiling also more than my German ons). Belgians are much more open, and friendlier people than much germans and I love the livestlye of Belgians.
Can I ask where you live in Belgium?

I'm from America.... Honestly, nothing. I don't really here much about Belgium, just parts of it in my World History class. But I like your waffles! Huzah!!

America. I've never really met a Belgian but I always thought of Belgium as a nice peaceful nation filled with lots of great architecture. I'd like to visit there some day. ^_^

Lol. I've met people who were part Belgian but they weren't actually from there, they lived here in the states. Well I'm honored to have finally met a Belgian. You seem like a lovely group of people. ^_^

:D lately a lot of japanese visit belgium: they are pretty funny to watch and when you talk to them they answer with a hilarious english accent (i know it's not nice, but i can't help it :p)
