They should be charged with child abuse and loose custody of the child because obviously she cares more about herself than the child.

There should be a Stupid Broad Law - If you are pregnant and smoke or drink alcohol the court can classify you as a Stupid Broad and place you in protective custody until the birth of your child. Child Welfare will then step in and take custody of that child until the mother can prove that she is no longer A Stupid Broad by attending parenting classes and is evaulated for stupidity.

I think that they don't deserve their child. Plenty of people in this world would do anything for a child and these people just screw up one of the best things that could ever happen to a person in their life. It's always the ones that don't really want the child/treat the child well that end up pregnant and never the ones that would give their right arm to have a child. When you're pregnant, it should be your child that comes first and not your own selfish habits. Abuse your own body all you want, but you have no right to poison someone elses.

If you want your child to have a disability or come out deformed then so be it. But any woman would be selfish to think of themselves and do such a thing. When you become pregnant, its NOT about you anymore. Its about that baby in your stomach that is growing!

Also, I have no respect and can't stand anyone who does that. It is hard for me not to put my two sense in when I see a woman doing such a thing.

Anyone who does this obviously has a low IQ & has no respect for the life of another human being, that is in her care. That IS child abuse & she would not be capable of making intelligent decisions. Sterilization sounds like a good plan for people like this, who are found in large numbers in the welfare lines...getting bigger checks because they have more babies!!!
Take away the welfare & see how many babies are born to people like this.
No mercy for women like this.

I think it is wrong. I never did either when I was pregnant even though I smoked before I found out I was pregnant. My child's health was the only the thing I was ever worried about.

This is why there should need to be licensing for someone to have a child. There are so many things that can be avoided that can cause harm. There needs to be education prior to pregnancy to avoid children being born with unnecessary problems into families that don't want them and will mistreat them. The alcohol and drug stuff is ONLY the tip of the ice berg.

How is having a licence going to stop people from having babies? You can't start and stop a womans body from being able to get pregnant, and even if they could, I have a huge a problem with somebody telling me if I am ready or not to have a baby. You get into a whole eugenics problem. Anybody who doesn't fit a certian ideal will not be allowed to have a baby regardless of how good of parents they may be. Do you really want America to be more like China? Where couples are only allowed to have one child?

You make a good argument there! You would think that if a woman feels that shes mature enough to be pregnant that she would in turn be mature enough to have some respect for not only the life that she carries inside of her but for herself as well! I honestly dont care what people decide to do to their own bodies because they have that right. But, when you factor in a tiny innocent baby, they should be allowed that right as well and they cant make that choice when they are at their most vulnerable point in their mothers womb!

There is no justice for a child born to parents who do not want or love it. But there is also a problem with those who want a baby having to get okayed for it. However, I would think anyone who really wants a baby would certainly be willing to get licensed just as those who apply to adopt go through a process. The stop/start issue is simply a need to develop a better birth control system.

The majority of people are good and willing parents and we should not be forced to have a right or natural process taken away from us because of a few bad apples. It is sad, I feel for kids brought into a bad situation, but that is no reason to make everybody else life harder. What will happen to people who have children who did not get a licence, better yet, what would happen to the child? Adoption is different than getting pregnant and having your own baby. You are taking in another person's child to raise as your own. I could see how people would really need to be checked out because some children have been adopted into slavery and such. Who is to say if someone is going to be a good parent? Licence or not there is no guarantee.

I think there should be blood tests on each baby born and if there is drugs/alcohol in their system you should lose your child and you should be charged with neglect/child abuse.

That sounds good except for a couple of problems. There are not enough good homes for these children to go to. There is not enough oversight of foster homes. And sometimes these children can be born will so many problems they can be in the hospital for month upon month, usually with no insurance coverage, and a special needs child is even harder to place. They often end uo in less than ideal situations through no fault of their own.

Thats true, they are born with an addiction. Its a horrible thing as well...its thoughtless and careless....Grr..can't stand woman like that.
