What do you think about the new law in New York that bans sodas and sugary drinks larger than 16oz?

I don't think it is fair

It's my body and I'm not hurting anybody. I think this is government overreach and some people will laugh but I think its a slippery slope.

I agree with it

I guess, I am speaking for myself... ... ... unless I am buying a drink to share with 4 other people, I never buy more then 16oz of anything.

We don't have such a law in Missouri.. and I see people filling their 72oz Go-cup with Mountain Dew in the mornings, and I think "OMG".

The weird thing is that I have never seen a person weight less then 150lbs doing such a thing... maybe there is a correlation.. maybe not... I really don't know.

I don't know too many grown men under 150 lbs but I get your point. Still, do you think the government has the right to limit the consumers in this way?

I do NOT!

The government needs to stay out of our business. Micromanaging our lives is BS.. we are not dogs, that need to be lead everywhere, and told to sit, roll over and fetch by some master.

People will drink however much they want !! When I go into a shop to buy a fountain drink I get the best deal I can, does not mean that I am going to consume all of it !! I do not want any government telling me how much soda I can buy/drink, whether Fed, State or Local. It is not going to prevent obesity, it more complicated than that.

A person can buy two or three or 100 medium size drinks if they want, just not that 16 ox. cup, the new rule dosen't bother me. Although I'm sure many will say their freedoms are being taking away, which is fine with me too.

The government does not have the right to pass such laws. If I were a large fast food corporation I would get with the rest of them and sue them until they stopped being stupid. When the Government stops defending out rights and freedoms of choice or starts taxing them excessively then it is time to remove that government.

Pretty stupid as all it really is, is a way to generate more sales tax revenue.
"Can't buy a 32 oz soda? Well, buy TWO 16 oz instead!"
