I don't dislike blondes at all ( I love the color!), anyway, you do what you like and feels good to you. One caveat, dying hair dark, is a serious move, especially if black because if later you want to go lighter, you'll have to double process your hair, and that will really damage it.
As for red, all you need to remember with it, is that it washes out quickly an you'll need a color enhancer to make it last longer.

I did have pink in my hair for awhile but my fam hated it and wut sucked was i had to graduate with pink hair and my family did not like it
