What can happen to the cord that connects your kidney to your bladder gets cut?

I just want to know what can happen if someone's cord that connects their kidney to their bladder gets cut badly.

It can cause death? Well, the reason for me asking this is because my boyfriend's mother had surgery and ig the doctors had a "robot" do surgery on her and it accidentally cut part of the cord.

With urine/blood leaking out into your abdominal cavity it can lead to (peritonitis). Unless repaired quickly; you could go into septic shock and die from infections

I'm not a Dr but I would assume possible failure of both organs if you don't have corrective surgery, especially the Kidneys since they filter blood.
