a childrens heart unit in leeds has been forced to shut yesterday due to the government!! leeds serviced all of the north of england now we are being made to travel south to another unit but sadly many sick children with heart defects wont make the added distance
other options are newcastle, birmingham, london and liverpool even further away from leeds. leeds serviced all us northeners and now have taken leeds away yesterday to save money but at what cost. thousands of children could die as a result most kids carnt travel the extra distance due to being too sick :(
That's truly a terrible decision .. to take away and close down what is needed in the community .. With any heart patient (and especially children) it is so necessary .. to have quick .. accessible care .. that doesn't require a lot of travel (and I'm aware some can't be airlifted either .. )
its disgusting its left my family and thousands of others in limbo as to what happens next i just dont know how they can put a price on innocent sick childrens lifes!!
I can definitely sympathize .. for in my nation .. we are also facing this 'price' on our lives as well .. it is disgusting .. that there's so little about 'health care' .. in Government run 'health care programmes' ..

I'm facing that now .. with what's happened in the USA .. my own MDs are quitting practice .. we have providers pulling out of the pre-authorized networks .. and have to travel for hours upon hours to obtain care .. we're also facing decisions (based on artificial .. non-medical 'bureaus' .. ) as to our 'worth' to actually obtain care in the first place .. needless to say .. It is not good for those like myself .. older ..
Are there any other units that can provide care to children with heart conditions near this closing hospital?
