Help them.

This makes me sad, not the question, but the fact that there are more votes towards ignoring than helping. If you were homeless and had no way to feed yourself you would think differently. They're the same as you and me, just in a less fortunate situation.

Where I live there is an intersection with a panhandler on each corner.. Same ones everyday.. They banned them in Tampa so they migrated to our county.. Offer them some work. OH NO! my back is hurt... Sat and watched a couple.. They managed to have 5 dollar a pack cigarettes and some beer stashed in their bags......Watched one leave the corner cross a big parking lot, got into a new car and drove off... Nope, I am no sucker.....

Another new scam is they will park in Wally Worlds parking lot, put a sign on their windshield "Need Gas" and usually a woman with a small child near by begging for a few dollars to buy gas so she can get home.. I offered to go get a can of gas for one and they turned it down...watched another one for a while and after getting money the man came over and they got in the car a drove off..

As a rule I don't give money to homeless people. If I don't know the person then I don't know what their intentions are. More than likely where I live they want money for drugs, alcohol or cigarettes not stuff that they need to survive on.

If they're hungry I'll offer to buy them a meal. If they turn that down they're probably just after drug money.

i have given away twenty five dollars at one time to one person. yes i always try to help them you never know who could be sent by God to see how kind we are. One day you could turn away your gaurdian angel. just a thought.

Honestly I ignore them because I'm struggling too, my family comes first but I do feel sorry for them!

I don't give them money. I have offered to give them a lift to the Job Service or Day-Labor.

There are panhandlers and there are professional panhandlers. Those that I see that are new on the corner, I might help, but if I see him/her on the same corner for more than two days... ...not one more dime. The professionals make more in a year than I do. But then, everyone should have a job, right?

Ignore them and help them through places that help panhandlers. this prevents your funds from being used to purchase items which perpetuate the panhandlers problems. I've also heard of panhandlers who live in normal homes and just don't want a job- you can look them up in your favorite search engine.
