What Are You Reading?

chyla 2012/07/05 06:46:43
I'm currently still riding my Hunger Games obsession out to its fullest. In fact, I may just read them all again sometime soon.

Next up? 50 Shades of Grey...
Just kidding.

I just finished the last book written by Anne McCaffrey, with her son, Todd. It's called Sky Dragons. She died last winter, so even though Todd is officially authorized to write about Pern and the dragons, it makes me sad that the author of so many wonderful books is gone.

It's a library book that I accidentally dropped in the water... well, the bright news is that I'm a proud new owner of a good book! :D

At least my rats didn't chew this one up... which, yes, they have done. :|

Follow this one with Trickster's Queen! Have you read any of Tamora Pierce's other Tortall books? If you haven't I would strongly recommend the Song of the Lioness Quartet.

No I have not, but I'm definitely hooked!
I am reading Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk by David Sedas next, but after I really want to read Song of the Lioness Quartet, but if Trickster's Queen is after Trickster's Choice.... hmmm

Read Song of the Lioness Quartet first, then, as the two trickster books tell the story of Alanna's daughter. Alanna's story is told in the Lioness books. After you read those, The Immortals quartet, the Beka Cooper trilogy, and the Protector of the Small quartet are books set in Tortall. There are also two other quartets, plus two more companion books, Circle of Magic (4 books), The Circle Opens (4 books), plus Melting Stones and The Will of the Empress. I've enjoyed all of her books.

So many to read! But I like this challenge, I've always had my nose in a book and that's never going to change!

You should have my job: I'm a school librarian, so not only do I get paid for reading books, I also get to spend a budget on them every year! It's wonderful. (smile)

Like I said, I'm super addicted to the Hunger Games and I'm not sure what I'd like next.
Maybe "Let's Pretend This Never Happened" by Gillian Flynn. I read a few pages at Barnes and Noble and nearly busted a tear duct laughing so hard I was sprouting tears...

The Hunger Games books are really great books. When I was a librarian in a middle school, they were always checked out. I couldn't read them, so I picked them up last winter. I got through all 3 books in about 4 days, but I've reread them, too. Right now, I'm listening to an audio version in the car.
