Sometimes it’s hard to remember the true meaning of Thanksgiving when you’re in the haze that comes from a heaping serving of turkey and stuffing. It’s easy to get distracted by all the football games. And it’s practically impossible to reflect on important issues after a second or third go at the pumpkin pie.

But when all the dishes have been rinsed off and you’ve loosened the top button on your Thanksgiving pants, it’s time to put a little thought into what matters most in your life. For some, the fact that they are surrounded by loved ones on the special occasion is all that matters. Others count their blessings that they have a good job in a still floundering economy.

In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, many feel fortunate that they have a roof over their heads. While there are those who can’t believe they went another year with the benefit of good health. And in an election year lots of people are reminded how happy they are to live in a democratic society -- even if the outcome wasn’t exactly to their liking. With so much to be happy about, we have to ask: What are you most thankful for?

Bill 2012/11/23 07:11:46All of the above — and then some+6All of the above, with the exception of a Democratic society, because I'm a Republican, and a conservative, and don't agree with the direction the Democrats are taking our Country. But good health and family head the list. Health, I'm 87 and still in good health, feeling good, with no known health problems, so I'm very Thankful for that.

Mind you if i can have something good on the table has well its a bonus.
You Americans are truly blessed to have your wonderful constitutional rights! I pray I'll live to see the day when we here in Malaysia can also enjoy freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of association, balance of powers, independence of the judiciary, free and fair elections, etc.
